Annual H.I.M. Pool Party

You, your family, and your friends are invited to the fifth annual H.I.M. Picnic and Pool Party on Saturday, June 6, 2009, from 11 am to 4 pm in Weston, MA.  It's free, but to help our planning, we request that you make a reservation for each person attending.  Reservations are now open!  We are trying out a new reservation system; let us know how you like it.  :)

Directions to the pool party will be sent in response to your reservation.  Also, if inclement weather forces us to cancel the party, those who have made a reservation will receive an email notification.

Fall 2009 H.I.M. Marriage Conference

Gary Thomas is an award-winning author whose books on marriage, parenting, and the Christian life have become worldwide bestsellers.  Sacred Marriage: What If God Designed Marriage to Make Us Holy More Than to Make Us Happy? has now sold over 300,000 copies and is changing the way the church thinks about marriage. 

Paul and Virginia Friesen have heard Gary speak and are delighted to bring him in as a guest speaker this fall.  The conference will be presented as a one-day seminar, with multiple sessions, workshops, and lunch provided for all.  Registration will open in early June.  Plan now to attend, and tell your friends!

Optional ingredients:
    Ham, turkey, olives, tomatoes, green pepper, mushrooms

Sprinkle cheese and onions in bottom of unbaked pie shell.  Mix together remaining ingredients and pour into pie shell.  Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes or until pie is set.  Before serving, sprinkle 1/4 cup yellow cheese over each pie.

Paul and Virginia are currently in Mbale, Uganda, visiting their daughter Julie, after having spent all of last week speaking and counseling in the capital city of Kampala.  They've been sending updates via their blog every few days, so please check out the great photos and stories of their ministry adventures here.

Regarding their counseling sessions there, Virginia writes, "It's interesting that no matter where we are in the world, people struggle with so many of the same things, especially with regard to family and marriage issues."
