30April 1, 2007 The first conference, to be held November 35, will feature Paul and Virginia Friesen as speakers and Danny Oertli as our worship leader. The second conference, to be held March 30April 1, 2007, will feature David Hegg, Senior Pastor of Corona Evangelical Free Church in Corona, California. David was our speaker for H.I.M. Family Camp in 2004 and will be back with us by popular (as in very popular!) demand. Leading worship that weekend will be Dave Bullock, Worship and Fine Arts Pastor at Elmbrook Church in Wisconsin and beloved by all H.I.M. Marriage Conference alumni. Attend one conference or bothyour marriage is worth it! Another idea: swap childcare with another couple and each attend one of the two conferences. The cost for each weekend is $290 per couple when you register at the early bird price, and will include two nights lodging, breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday. Dinner on both Friday and Saturday evenings will be on your own. Brochures will be available in the next week or so, but you can register online now by clicking Online Registration. |

5. FULLERTON COLLEGE CHOIR HOSTED BY H.I.M. FAMILIES The Sunday morning concert, given as part of Tremont Temple's Sunday worship service, was truly inspiring. The choir sounded fantastic and many were moved to tears at the end of the service by their closing benediction, "God Be With You 'Til We Meet Again." Even the choir members wept and spontaneously joined hands as they stood above the congregation on the second balcony, singing notes of promise and hope. Please pray that God will continue to work in heartsours and theirs to love and serve Him forever. |

6. PAUL AND VIRGINIA AT WORK AND PLAY! Monday through Thursday were spent at a pastor's conference held at Mapleton, a Christian Conference Center located in the mountains behind Brisbane. Virginia writes, "With our deep passion for Christian camps and conference centers, we loved being there and of course, noticed everything. They run an excellent facility and we were well served in every way. The conference went very well. We spoke 7 times and became very connected with the 140 attendees, most of whom pastor alone in very remote and lightly populated areas of Queensland. We had many sidebar conversations, many mealtime conversations, and a few counseling sessions - all of which reminded us of how much we have in common, both in joys and struggles as members of the Body of Christ." In the days following, Paul and Virginia took in as much of Australia as possible! They visited a wildlife park south of Brisbane on the Gold Coast, and discovered a Farmer's Market where they bought fresh vine ripened tomatoes, basil, avocados, and Pink Lady apples, along with a fresh loaf of bread and that provided many of their meals for days to follow. They took the scenic steam railway to Kuranda, an aboriginal village in the rainforest about 1.5 hrs. from Cairns, took a boat tour out to the Frankland Islands, a National Park area, and drove to the Atherton Tablelands, following the waterfall circuit through rainforest areas. And of course, they spent a day on the Great Barrier Reef, which they report was their favorite day of all. Virginia writes: "It's impossible to describe the sites we saw on the reef; the water was truly warm and aquamarine and teeming with beautiful tropical fish, corals, clams, and algae. We made three different stops once out to the reef (an hour and a half boat ride out from Port Douglas), seeing different marine life in each place. Honestly, we could've stayed out for days and been thoroughly captivated. It was incredible. God's footprints, fingerprints, love letters . . . everywhere. The time passed all too quickly and before we knew it, we were heading back to shore on glassy seas. Several dolphin gave us a frolicking show on the way back, including several very high jumps. What a great exclamation point on a perfect day." This summer, may God grant you, too, His many exclamation points of grace. |
